Re: BIOSTATS:::"SAMPLING ERROR"--
I'm writing this from Bhatia notes ( given by Dr Bhatia himself)
NULL HYPOTHESIS- Hypothesis of no difference. (ie. the difference betweenthe two study is by chance)
Rejection of a true null hypothesis---- TYPE 1 ERROR ( alpha error)
you think there is a difference when there is not.
Acceptance of a false null hypothesis--- TYPE 2 ERROR ( beta error)
you think there is no difference between the two groups when actually there is.
( to remember- Beta error= Blindness to the difference)
p value- Critical level of commiting type 1 error.
power of study--- 1- beta error
SAMPLING ERROR--- alpha error.
alpha error is most dangerous..
1/Sampling error = PRICISION.
ans is alpha error
